We have been on a bit CACC kick lately and fortunately for you, we have been able to provide you with videos and techniques that bridge the gap between grappling styles.
Earlier this week we showed you a side control attack, straight from CACC, that was adapted for BJJ. Today, we are doing much the same. This evenings technique starts with back control, a position not seen all that often in wrestling, but I assure you it does exist (crab ride). Anyway, todays technique is brought to us by Kris Kim, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under Tony Passos. He is the head instructor at Yongsan BJJ, U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan, Seoul, Korea. Kris sets up this series of techniques from the back by first attacking the neck as most of us would. He very slyly transitions into an arm trap (something we have seen BJ Penn use) to isolate the top wrist and arm. From there, Kris takes full liberty to either choke you (since you only have one hand to defend with) or he moves to a nasty hammerlock/chicken wing, that is almost impossible to defend.
Try it out, and if you don't believe in its effectiveness, shell out $10 bucks for UFC Fight Pass and watch BJ Penn RNC the hell out of people throughout his career using this very technique.
