When you watch a guy like Michael Langhi move within the guard, it's easy to be discouraged if your a mid-level to beginner-level grappler (or even a high ranking experienced grappler for that matter). He appears to move effortlessly from position to position, his attacks dictated by his opponent's responses. Timing, disciplined position, speed and dexterity combine and his opponent gets swept. Techniques from open guard can be spectacular to see and Langhi's are truly the prettiest BJJ you can find.
Langhi is a world champion with some of the best training in the world in his coach, Cobrinha. He's also young, talented and in pro-level physical condition ... and he has one of those rooster-style fauxhawk deal things that are a must for guys of his level. Can you still be like him? Yeah. You can. You might not win Mundial gold as a black belt at age 21, but that's not important. His game (but, not his hairstyle) is something to be admired and emulated.
